Warwickshire based Carol first turned to painting in 2007 as a means to help relieve the stresses of her job as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner & Clinical Sister in a busy Accident & Emergency Department. Although she has attended workshops in both Landscapes and Wildlife in Pastel she has received now formal Art teaching, and has gradually developed her own style of using pastels.
Having a love of wildlife and nature from an early age, it seemed a natural progression that her new found hobby would eventually turn to wildlife art.
In 2009 she took 2 years out from painting due to illness, but has since returned with renewed enthusiasm and passion for her work.
Whilst she regularly exhibits with Natural World Art Group at Banham Zoo in Norfolk, TWASI at Nature in Art, Association of Animal Artists and Southern Nature in Art at Rookesbury in Hampshire, her painting still remains primarily a hobby. She has become a regular demonstrator and exhibitor at the NEC Birmingham, Patchings Art Festival in Nottingham and The Art Market as part of the Southern Nature Art Exhibition at Rookesbury Park, Hampshire.
For her part in helping the conservation of wildlife Carol is a member of the Big Cat Sanctuary, Smarden, Kent and contributes Limited Edition Prints for Sale in the Sanctuary Shop. She is also a Friend of the Cotswold Falconry Centre, Morton in the Marsh Gloucestershire.
Carol has now produced a series of Painting Wildlife in Pastel Pencils, a series of Step-by-Step Guides too help you through the process of painting Wildlife in Pastel Pencils. Current subjects available Tiger, Lion, Giraffe, Barn Owl, Kingfisher, & Merlin. More subjects will follow shortly.
